Reference projects


Abertis Telecom

Supply of DVB-T equipment for Abertis Telecom (Main TV broadcaster in Spain) after the Spanish ASO, as part of the extension of 3 new multiplex in the Spanish DTT network during 2010 and 2011.

The project consisted on the delivery of:

-

More than 1500 mictro-transmitters and micro-transposers of 1W and 5W configured as a one module per mux or N+1 systems, depending on site requirements.

-

Over 200 medium and high power transmitters of 20, 100, 200, 600 and 1.2KW within the TE9000 series. These transmitters are equipped with high power density transistors to provide very high energy efficiency, thereby allowing broadcasters to significantly reduce the OPEX.

Depending on site requirements some of the transmitters were configured in dual-drive or N+1 systems, and for that purpose they were equipped with the CCU9000 Control Unit, which stands out as one of the most advanced monitoring and management system on the market.


Turnkey project for Abertis Telecom conducted during the years 2008 to 2010 for the digital coverage extension in Spain.

The Project involved the supply and installation of over 2600 micro-transmitters and micro-transposers of 1W and 5W configured as a one module per MUX or N+1 systems, depending on site requirements. The 5000 series indeed stands out from other manufacturers owing to its small size (single module) and low energy consumption as well.

The analogue switch off was successfully accomplished on the 03/04/2010 after the massive turnkey project involving the installation and upgrade of more than 600 sites all around the Spanish geography, reaching during peak periods an impressive rate of 20 installations per week, including both satellite and terrestrial reception systems, antenna systems, passive RF components and commissioning.


Supply of over 1000 DVB-T medium power transmitters of 20, 100 and 200W as well as DVB-T transposers ranging from 1W to 100W for Abertis Telecom, as part of the deployment of the Digital TV network in Spain between 2006 and 2010.

These figures show up that Egatel is the leading supplier of medium power equipment in the Spanish DTT network.


The deliveries of the table below are part of a turnkey project that embraced a MFN network for Abertis Telecom with the SERIS consortium during 2002.

The project consisted on the upgrade of the existing network with an additional multiplex for which Egatel supplied about 90% of the equipment for the total of the project, delivering low, medium and high power transmitters ranging from 1W to 2KW as well as transposers of 1W and 5W.

Egatel performed the installations, monitoring and commissioning of the equipment.


The following deliveries are part of a huge turnkey project for Abertis Telecom with the SERIS consortium, being Egatel the sole provider of transmitters for the consortium.

The project was conducted during 1999-2001 and consisted on the deployment in Spain of the first SFN network in the world and the third digital TV project worldwide. The consortium of which Egatel was part supplied around 66% of the total, delivering low, medium and high power transmitters ranging from 1W to 2KW.

Egatel carried out the installations, monitoring and commissioning of the equipment.

Supply of Analog TV equipment for Abertis Telecom (main TV broadcaster in Spain) during the period 2005-2006.

The Project involved the supply of over 200 TV transmitters and transposers covering the whole power range.

TV UHF transmitters of low, medium and high power, ranging from 5W to 2KW. To increase their reliability, the transmitters of 500W, 1KW and 2KW were equipped with dual-drive redundancy.

TV UHF transposers of low and medium power, from 5W to 500W. To increase their reliability, the transposers of 100W and 500W were equipped with dual-drive redundancy.



Supply of 20 high power TV transmitters as a turnkey project conducted for Abertis Telecom during the period 2002-2004.

The project involved the supply and installation of:

10KW UHF high power transmitters.

-

5KW UHF high power transmitters.

-

2KW UHF high power transmitters.

All the transmitters were equipped with dual-drive redundancy.



Retegal

Turnkey project conducted from 2010 to 2011 for Retegal (Public TV broadcaster in Galicia - Northwest Spain), with the aim of extending the digital coverage after the Analogue Switch-Off in Spain (April 2010).

The project involved the supply and installation of over 100 equipment of DVB-T:

-

DVB-T transmitters of medium and high power: 20W, 100W and 1KW (dual-drive configuration).

-

DVB-T micro-remodulators of 1W and 5W. These devices allowed Retegal to rebroadcast an impaired input signal with a QoS of error-free.

-

DVB-T micro-transmitters and micro-transposers (with a high performance echo canceller integrated) of 1W and 5W.

All the supplied equipment in micro format belongs to 5000 series. This family of products indeed stands out due to its small size (single module design) and low energy consumption as well.


Turnkey Project conducted for Retegal that consisted on the supply of over 500 DVB-T medium and low power equipment including both transmitters and transposers, targeting the Analog Switch Off (ASO) in Spain, which finally took place on April 3rd of 2010.

The project was carried out from 2006 to 2010 and involved the provision and installation of:

-

DVB-T transmitters ranging from 5W to 200W.

-

DVB-T transposers ranging from 1W to 100W with a high performance echo canceller integrated.

-

DVB-T micro-remodulators of 1W and 5W. These devices allowed Retegal to rebroadcast an impaired input signal with a QoS of error-free.

-

DVB-T micro-transmitters and micro-transposers of 1W and 5W.

Turnkey project conducted during the period 2003-2005 for Retegal for the initial deployment of the Spanish Digital TV network in the region of Galicia.

The Project comprised the delivery and installation of over 50 DVB-T transmitters and transposers of low, medium and high power:

-

DVB-T transmitters of 20W, 100W, 500W and 1KW. The 500W and 1KW transmitters were configured as 1+1 systems in order to increase their reliability.

-

DVB-T transposers of 5W, 20W and 100W with a high performance echo canceller integrated able to operate with high power levels.



Axion

Provision of over 30 DVB-T equipment for Axion (TV broadcaster in Spain, subsidiary of the French Telecommunications group TDF) during the period 2010-2011, with the aim of extending the Digital TV coverage in the region of Andalusia after the ASO took place.

The Project comprised the delivery of:

-

DVB-T transmitters of 10W, 20W, 100W and 300W, belonging to TE9000 series. The 300 W transmitters of this family are equipped with power amplifiers of LDMOS-50 volt. transistors technology to provide high energy efficiency, thereby allowing Axion to considerably reduce the OPEX.

-

DVB-T micro-transmitters and microtransposers (with high performance echo canceller integrated) of 1W and 5W, corresponding to 5000 series. This family is characterized by its extremely compact design (single module) and its low energy consumption.


Supply of over 200 DVB-T equipment for Axion during the period 2009-2010, aiming at the deployment of the Regional DTV Multiplex in Andalusia before the ASO took place (April, 2010).

The Project involved the delivery of:

-

DVB-T transmitters of 10W, 20W and 100W.

-

DVB-T micro-transmitters and microtransposers (with high performance echo canceller integrated) of 1W and 5W, within the 4000 and 5000 series.



Canary Islands

Supply of DVB-T equipment in March 2010 aimed at the digital coverage extension of the Spanish DTT network throughout the Tenerife Island (Spain).

The Project consisted on the supply of 150 micro-transmitters and micro-transposers to be installed in low-power stations.

All the micro-devices belongs to 5000 series, which indeed stands out due to its small size (single module design) and low energy consumption as well.


Vaasa Telephone Company

Supply of digital TV equipment for the Finnish company Vaasa Telephone for the deployment of a MFN network. The project also involved the installation and commissioning of equipment:

- DVB-T UHF Transmitters of 1.2 KW of output power with exciter redundancy (Dual Drive Configuration).
- DVB-T UHF transmitters of 500W of output power with exciter redundancy (Dual Drive Configuration).
- DVB-T UHF transposers of 50W of output power with high performance echo canceller integrated.


PTS (Public Television Service Foundation)

Supply of DVB-T Gap-fillers for the Taiwanese company PTS (Public Television Service Foundation).

This project demonstrated the performance and reliability of the echo canceller developed by Egatel, as Gap-fillers provided an output power of 100W. The difficulty of handling these power levels in a Gap-filler causes that only Egatel and other few manufacturers can include them in their portfolio.


Canal del Viento

Supply of 100W UHF DVB-T transmitters for the private operator Canal del Viento (TPP SA) with the aim of providing digital TV pay-per-view services to the city of Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina.

The project also included the provision of passive elements, combiners and RF filters, as well as the technical support necessary for proper installation and connection of the transmitter chain to the antenna system.


TV Azteca

Supply of ATSC Gap-fillers of 130W of output power for the mexican operator TV Azteca.

These devices stood for a technological breakthrough since they were the first gap-fillers for the ATSC standard available in the market.


Morocco

Egatel was awarded with a contract to expand the Digital TV network infrastructure in Morocco.

The project involved the supply, installation and commissioning of digital DVB-T/H transmitters of 500W of output power.

They were equipped with Dual Drive redundancy as well as with the Control Unit CCU9000. The modulators integrated the real-time adaptive digital pre-correction developed by Egatel, ensuring the highest quality in the transmission of digital TV signal.

The project also included the supply and installation of the RF combiners and antenna system required to broadcast digital TV signals in the UHF band.


TRT - Türkiye Radyo Televizyon

Supply of 100 analog UHF TV transmitters for the public operator of Turkey - TRT (Türkiye Radyo Televizyon) - in 2009.

The contract involved the delivery of 100 analog UHF TV transmitters - TAE7102AB model - with an output power of 1kW. To increase system reliability, the transmitters were equipped with both exciter redundancy and Control Unit - UC9001R model.

The Control Unit provides TRT with the possibility of local and remote monitoring through floating contacts or by means of the SNMP protocol.

The TAE7102AB transmitters feature a very low consumption, which has allowed TRT to significantly reduce their operating costs.


Corporativo Grupo Diez

Supply of analog TV transmitters for Corporativo Grupo Diez - Government of Veracruz State, Mexico - in 2003.

The project involved the delivery of medium-power transmitters of 100W and 500W for the VHF band and a 5KW high power transmitter for the UHF band, equipped with dual drive redundancy.


Contract signed in 2006 with Corporativo Grupo Diez as a turnkey project to supply analogue TV transmitters.

The contract involved the delivery and installation of medium power transmitters of 100W and 500W to be used within the VHF band.


RTVC - Radio y Televisión de Colombia

Turnkey project conducted in 2008 for Radio and Television of Colombia (RTVC) -Public broadcaster of Colombia.

The project involved the supply and installation of 30 analog TV transmitters of low and medium power, delivered in the following manner:

- 200W transmitters for UHF band
- 100W transmitters for UHF band
- 100W transmitters for VHF band
- 20W transmitters for UHF band
- 10W transmitters for UHF band


CCNP - Consorcio de Canales Nacionales Privados (Colombia)

Supply of Analogue TV transmitters for Consorcio de Canales Nacionales Privados (CCNP) - Private broadcaster, Colombia- in 2008.

The project involved the supply of 20 medium-power transmitters, delivered in the following manner:

- 500W transmitters for UHF band
- 200W transmitters for UHF band
- 100W transmitters for UHF band


SNRT – Société Nationale de Radiodiffusion et de Télévision

Turnkey project carried out in 2009 for the SNRT - Société Nationale de Radiodiffusion et de Television, the public operator of Morocco.

The project involved the provision and installation of analogue TV transmitters, delivered in the following manner:

- 1KW transmitters for VHF band
- 100W transmitters for VHF band

With the aim of increasing the system dependability, the transmitters were equipped with dual-drive configuration. The redundant system is managed by the UC9001R Control Unit.

The Control Unit provides SNRT with the ability to manage and monitor the equipment locally or remotely via potential-free contacts or via SNMP protocol.


ONT - Office National de la Télédiffusion

Supply of Analogue TV transmitters in 2004 for ONT - Office National de la Télédiffusion, public operator of Tunisia.

The contract involved the supply of medium-power transmitters, classified in the manner of:

- 200W transmitters for UHF band
- 200W transmitters for VHF band
- 100W transmitters for UHF band
- 50W transmitters for UHF band

In order to increase the system reliability and to ensure the availability of TV service, all equipment were configured as 1+1 systems and integrated the UC9001R Control Unit.

In a 1+1 system, the UC9001R Control Unit manages two transmitters, the main and reserve one. It permanently monitors the status of each one of them and switches to the reserve in case of failure of the main transmitter.

The Control Unit allows the operator ONT to send information and monitor the transmitters remotely via floating contacts and / or SNMP.


Sahara Communications and Publishing Co.

Supply of 5KW UHF transmitters equipped with exciter redundancy (Dual Drive configuration) and with NICAM stereo sound system for Sahara Communications and Publishing Co. (Tanzania) in 2005.


Vietnam TV Technology

Supply of 2KW UHF transmitters and a 2KW VHF transmitter equipped with exciter redundancy (Dual Drive configuration) for Vietnam TV Technology, Investment and Development Company (VTC Vietnam) during the years 2002-2003.
