Egatel unveils its Wideband High Efficiency TV transmitters at BroadcastAsia 2014

Egatel overcomes the state-of-the-art of the Doherty technology by adding the broadband capability
Egatel will attend as every year to the forthcoming edition of BradcastAsia 2014 to show its cutting edge technology in TV transmitters. The exhibition will be hold in Marina Bay Sands Hotel from June the 17th to the 20th in Singapore.
Egatel will introduce its brand-new Wideband High Efficiency Transmitters (WHET series) at its booth 5K6-05. For the first time the Doherty technology becomes Wideband, meaning that it is applicable to the whole UHF band. Therefore, no modifications in the amplifiers are required when the operator needs to change the RF channel.
As a superb example of the WHET series, the Egatel's team will show a live demo of a liquid cooled 3KW DVB/ISDB (4KW ATSC) transmitter, TLWH7804 model. It is defined by its complete modular design and includes the pump system integrated within the transmitter’s rack. This solution optimizes premises layout and investment.
Regarding air-cooled series, a 600Wrms DVB/ISDB Doherty transmitter will be shown in another live demo. This transmitter allows up to five modules to be integrated in the same rack with unbeatable energy efficiency. The amplifiers synthesizes Egatel’s know how , avoiding air flows through components or boards, using redundant power supplies with easy access by the front or with fans placed outside the module for an easy replacement without opening it.
The use of Doherty technology in the new amplifiers rockets Efficiency up to values of 42% in ATSC and 38% in DVB/ISDB, optimizing the Energy Consumption and, thus the OPEX.
Regardless the output power or cooling system, Egatel offers 1U 19”exciters for DVB-T/-H/T2, ISDB-T/Tb and ATSC, with the highest quality requirements. Digital adaptive precorrection is included in all the configurations Moreover, it uses friendly solutions for operation and maintenance like control software based in embedded web servers, front insertion solid state memories for loading configurations and remote supervision solutions based on SNMP.
