EGATEL starts the supply of DTT Transmitters of Phase II to TV Azteca in Mexico
|After the delivery of the equipment of Phase I, during which a total of 74 transmitters and 2 digital gapfillers were supplied, Egatel has started working with the second stage consisting of 15 new broadcasting sites awarded by TV Azteca.|
During the Phase II, 29 ATSC digital transmitters, from 200 Wrms to 1 kWrms, will be installed, as well as the ancillary equipment, including combiners or filters, patch panels and dummy loads. The vast majority of the transmitters to be supplied belong to the WHET Series, the new Egatel Transmitters, Wideband High-Efficiency.
The WHET Series incorporates important technological improvements: the transmitters reach an energy efficiency of up to 42% and such efficiency is maintained throughout the UHF range, so no adjustment or modification of any kind is required in the power amplifiers at the time of changing the operating RF channel. The different options for redundancy and optimal design of critical modules guarantee continuity of service throughout the life of the transmitter.
Egatel has been consolidated in the Mexican market as a reference supplier of DTT transmitters in the challenging digitalization process that will lead to the Analog Switch-Off by the end of 2015. That is why Egatel continues to have major projects within the country, with the digitalization pending of many public state televisions, and with the tender process of two new state channels.
